What is Flood shape?
Flutiform is a combination inhaler which contains the inhalative corticoid floodicasonpropionate and the long-acting beta-2-agonist formoterol. It combines the high effectiveness of Fluticason with the rapid action of Formoterol.
Flutiform is available as a classic dosing aerosol and as a breath-controlled K-necker. The K-haler automatically dissolves during inhalation and is particularly suitable for patients who have difficulties with coordination.
In comparison with seretides, Flutiform offers the advantage of the rapidly effective formoterol instead of the slower acting salmeterol.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Fluticasonpropionat, Formoterol
Flutiform combines two proven active ingredients:
Fluticasonpropionate (ICS):
- Potentes inhalative corticoid
- Strong anti-inflammatory effect
- Low systemic bioavailability
- Protects long-term against asthma attacks
Formoterol (LABA):
- Fast action (1-3 minutes)
- Long-lasting bronchodilation (12 hours)
- Vollagonist on Beta-2-receptor
- Can also be used for demand application
Synergy effect: Fluticason increases the beta-2 receptor density, Formoterol strengthens the anti-inflammatory effect of the corticoid – both benefit from each other.
