What is spices?
Spedra is a modern drug for treating erectile dysfunction with the active ingredient Avanafil. It was approved in 2013 and is the newest PDE-5 inhibitor on the market.
The special feature of Spedra is the very rapid action: In some men, the drug already acts after 15 minutes – significantly faster than all other PDE-5-inhibitors. This allows maximum spontaneity.
Spedra was developed from the outset with the aim of working faster and causing fewer side effects. The active ingredient Avanafil is highly selective for PDE-5 and influences other enzymes less than older active ingredients of this class.
The drug is Prescription and is distributed by Menarini.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Avanafil
Avanafil belongs to the group of PDE-5 inhibitors, but because of its chemical structure it acts particularly fast and selective.
The mechanism: In sexual excitation, nitrogen monoxide (NO) is released which activates the production of cGMP. cGMP relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, more blood flows in, an erection arises.
The enzyme PDE-5 removes cGMP. Avanafil inhibits this enzyme so that cGMP works longer and the erection is supported.
Why Avanafil acts as fast: The chemical structure of Avanafil allows for rapid intake into the blood and rapid action. Unlike older PDE 5 inhibitors, the effect can be noticeable after 15 minutes.
High selectivity: Avanafil is particularly selective for PDE-5. It affects other PDE enzymes (which occur, for example, in the eyes or in the cardiovascular system) less than Sildenafil. This could lead to fewer side effects.

- Maybe less headaches
**Other PDE-5-Hemmer not tolerate optimally:* *
- Alternative incompatibility
- Different side effect profile
Typical indications:
- Erectile dysfunction of various causes
- Organic, psychological or mixed ED
- diabetics with erection problems
Available Dosages
available dosages:
- 50 mg – lowest dose
- 100 mg – Recommended initial dose

- Slow blood pressure (under 90/50 mmHg)
- Uncontrolled hypertension (over 170/100 mmHg)
- **Short stroke * *
- Smooth liver failure
- **Some retinal diseases * *
- Further CYP3A4 inhibitors (Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, etc.)
Preview at:
- Anatomical penis deformities
- Disorders with Priapism Risk
- Moderate liver or kidney failure
Possible Side Effects

- Headaches
