What is Beclomet Easyhaler?
Beclomet Easyhaler is a powder inhaler with the inhalative corticoid beclometasondipropionate. It is used for preventive long-term treatment of bronchiale asthma.
Beclometason is one of the longest proven inhalative corticoids and has been successfully used in asthma therapy since the 1970s. The Easyhaler offers a practical, easy to use dosage form.
Beclometason is also part of the combination inhaler Foster (with formoterol) and the tripelin halator Trimbow.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Beclometasondipropionat
Beclometason acts as a prodrug anti-inflammatory:
Active mechanism: 1. Beclometasondipropionate is a prodrug Two. In the lung it is converted to the active beclometason-17-monopropionate (17-BMP) 3. 17-BMP binds to glucocorticoid receptors 4. Anti-inflammatory genes are activated
Effects:
- Reduction of respiratory inflammation
- Reduction of swelling and mucus production
- Reducing bronchial hyperreagiability
- Protection against asthma attacks
Time:
- First effects: after a few days
- Full effect: after 1-4 weeks
- No immediate effect in acute breathing
Who is it suitable for?
Beclomet Easyhaler is suitable for:
- Asthma bronchiale all heavy grades
- Adults and children
- As a basic therapy (controller)
Advantages:
- Long-year proven
- Good safety profile
- Simple powder inhaler
- Alternative for HIV patients under Ritonavir (better than Fluticason)
Not suitable:
- For the acute treatment of breathlessness
- As sole therapy for severe asthma
Available Dosages
Beclomet Easyhaler: 200 μg per single dose
Dosing with asthma (adults):
- Light: 200-500 μg per day (in 2 doses)
- Medium: 500-1000 μg per day
- Heavy: 1000-2000 μg per day
For children:
- 100-400 μg per day
equivalence doses: 200 μg Beclometason correspond to about 200 μg Budesonid or 100 μg Fluticason.
How to Take
Easyhaler – Application: 1. Remove protective cap Two. Keep up, shake hard 3. Press and release (Click – dose loaded) 4. Breathe deep (not in the inhaler) Five. Close the mouthpiece 6. Strong and deep breathing 7. Keep breath 5-10 seconds 8. Rinse and sprinkle
Important:
- apply 2x daily (morning and evening)
- Continue with freedom of appeal
- Do not drop abruptly
- rinse mouth after inhalation (Mundsoor prevention)
Contraindications
Do not apply at:
- hypersensitivity to beclometason or lactose
Preview at:
- Active lung tuberculosis
- respiratory infections (pilz, virus, bacteria)
- Heavy liver failure
pregnant: Can be used with asthma. Uncontrolled asthma is more dangerous.
Style time: Go into breast milk in small amounts. Application possible.
Possible Side Effects
Acid (1-10%):
- Oral Candidose
- Heiserkeit
- Rache irritation
Occasionally:
- Headaches
- Husten after inhalation
Selten (at high doses/long-term therapy):
- Adrenal suppression
- osteoporosis
- Cataract, glaucoma
- slowing growth in children
Prevention: rinse your mouth after every inhalation!
Interactions
Reactions:
- CYP3A4 inhibitors – less interaction than Fluticason
- Beclometason is therefore preferred in HIV therapy with Ritonavir
No relevant interaction with:
- Bronchodilatators
- Most other medicines
